Hardworking Hal needs a new pal!
Hal is not a dummy or a doll. He's a High-Fidelity Manikin, a high-tech, life-size, breathing, blinking, talking simulated patient who has helped thousands of students learn how to care for those in need. He lives in the College of Health Sciences Simulation Center with his six good manikin friends. For the past eight years, Hal and his pals have called the center home.
Together with faculty, Hal and his pals work tirelessly, creating a safe environment where nursing, radiologic sciences, and respiratory care students practice their skills. More than 400 students foster the passion they have for learning by practicing clinical care on Hal each semester, and Hal has helped make each of them high-quality healthcare practitioners. Every single student in these programs appreciates Hal and his pals.
Hardworking Hal and his friends are now senior citizens, in manikin years, and their age is starting to show. They need a new, young manikin friend to help the Health Sciences students learn and hone their skills so that when they graduate from Boise State, they can provide superb care to the rest of us in their chosen healthcare profession. Give now and help us introduce Hal and his pals to a new hardworking buddy who can take on the burden of providing high-quality care providers from coast to coast.
