Honors College

The Boise State Honors College represents every department on campus, bringing together talented, highly-motivated students and challenging them to become more effective thinkers and leaders as they prepare for lives of meaningful work, public engagement, and lifelong learning. To support students, the Honors College provides a challenging curriculum that fits within each major’s requirements; the personalized attention of a small, private college with the benefits and resources of a large, metropolitan university; and a community of like-minded individuals who love to learn and get involved.

Honors College Scholarships
Honors College scholarships provide aid to students who would otherwise not be able to participate in the small, tight-knit community here at Boise State. By donating to the Honors College general endowed scholarship fund, students receive the financial aid and support they need to begin or continue their education at Boise State.

Honors College Scholarship for International Study Abroad
Study abroad opportunities deepen students’ understanding of the world. In order to encourage our Honors students, three Honors credits are offered for each semester a student is abroad. However, not all of our students have the means to travel and live abroad. In order to support our student’s growth and educational development, the Honors College Dean’s Excellence Fund supports students who need financial aid to study abroad. By donating to the Dean’s Excellence Fund, donors are directly helping students experience the world.

Honors College House System
The Honors College consists of five houses, each led by an Honors staff member and student leadership council. Incoming students are sorted into their house during the Welcome Program, providing them with a support network for their time in Honors. Throughout the year, Honors staff provide individual mentorship for students, and the councils promote close community within the College by organizing service and social events. Through donations to the Dean’s Excellence Fund, councils will be able to continue creating dynamic and engaging programming for our students.
